What I have learnedAfter spending much time photographing nude bodies and getting to know those with whom I have worked, I have a gained a greater respect and appreciation for the female form. It has become very apparent to me why the great masters of art were always inclined to work with the nude form, it is thee expression of true beauty in its purest form. Each body tells a story with its poses and body language and each is as diverse and spellbinding as the patterns of a kaleidoscope.
While I have become acquainted with the female body as a beautiful, delicate, intricate vessel; I have also learnt to equally respect its prowess as a very sensual/sexual form, and as such it has the potential to be as uplifting as it can be dismantling to a person if handled incorrectly or not treated with the reverence with which it deserves. Some examples of men who took the female form lightly are Samson (the strongest man), Solomon (the wisest man) and David (a man whom God loved as a favourite). I have also come to the realisation that society’s outlook as a whole needs to be reeducated on this matter and begin to see the female body as a thing of beauty and not an object for sexual release. And until that is accomplished, the nude body will always be viewed as inherently wrong.
